Kidnapped by pirates at 16 and sold into slavery in Ireland. Encounters God in a series of dreams that leads to his escape. Dedicated his life to God and becomes a priest. His heart is so broken for the people who kidnapped and abused him that he returns to Ireland and dedicates his life to giving them Jesus. Ireland becomes a predominantly Christian nation. Countless moves of God have started and gone out of Ireland and around the world, including some of the earliest recorded prayer movements. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
