This is Back Door Donuts. They sell hot donuts out of the back door of a bakery, but only at night. Their apple fritters are the size of you face.

There’s nothing better than a day of pouring rain on your vacation... but we will see this island if it kills us!

Sometimes when all I can do is pray for someone, I hear a voice that says I’m not doing enough. That voice is a lie. Prayer is the greatest thing we can do. We pray and God moves.

Last week while ministering at the Coffield Prison Campus, I had the opportunity to take a tour of an area of the prison that is called Administrative Segregation. The men in this section of the prison spend 23 hours a day confined to their cells. Most of these men are dangerous, some are considered the most dangerous men in Texas. It’s hard to describe what this section of the prison is like. It was the darkest, most oppressively evil place I have ever been. Even the sunlight coming in the windows of the corridors seemed darker. There was one a moment where I thought I could actually reach out and physically touch evil in the air. Why am I telling you all this? Because today nineteen men from this unit will be shackled hand and foot, and one by one be escorted by a team of guards to the Prison Gym where they will be met by a group of @gatewaypeople leaders ready to water baptize them. That's right. In the midst of what could easily be called hell on earth, nineteen men have encountered Jesus Christ and made Him the Lord of their lives, and for the first time in this prison's history a church has been asked to baptize these men in "solitary confinement." The baptism will take place from 12 PM to 2 PM, and I would like to ask each of you to pray for us as we are doing this. Maybe you cannot pray for us the whole time, but throughout the day would you be willing to commit some time to cover us with prayer? Jesus came to set those who are captive free, and tomorrow we are being asked to go "behind enemy lines" and do just that. If that doesn't make you want to worship God, I don't know what will! Please pray for us.

Today is our last official Daddy Dylan Day. We started getting donuts together and going on an adventure every Friday, my day off, to spend time together and give Mom a break. But today is the older kids last Friday of school and this beauty starts school with them next year. ⠀ ⠀ My kids growing up... I’m not a fan of that.

No joke, these girls have been taking pictures of themselves against this wall for the last 20 minutes.

Drying out my favorite Bible this morning after it was accidentally water baptized last night during the storm while at @GatewayPeople Coffield Men’s Prison. While we’re talking a out Water Baptism, we had 17 guys sign up to be baptized at our first Coffield Baptism service in two weeks!

Heading home after another great night of ministry at the @gatewaypeople cofield prison campus. We took communion tonight, and we talked about it was this night that Jesus was having communion with his disciples. It was amazing to see men with tears running down their faces as they sat and reflected on what what Jesus did for them on Easter.

If anyone is needing a pay phone I found one in Corsicana. It’s just off of 287, so it’s convenient.

My wife sent me this article today. When I was in 5th grade I started serving at “The Slab”, a church for the homeless. I actually just drove the family by there a couple of weeks ago to see it and tell the kids about it.

Everyday I find jars in our refrigerator like this. I assume someone in our house thinks this makes things more convenient for everyone else. Good thing I never grab jars by the top because that would be really frustrating if every time you reached in the fridge to grab the peanut butter, the lid came off in your hand forcing you to have the hands of a shortstop to keep the jar from crashing on the floor.

Undefeated! This guys soccer team is playing so well together this season!

It’s funny how little I pay attention to how many churches are around our community. I get caught up in what I’m doing at our church, that I forget that God’s doing an amazing work around the world and down the street. Had a great opportunity this morning to pray with a bunch of local pastors who have been getting together for a year, to do nothing but pray that God would unify their churches. It was amazing.

How can this girl be 5 today! My little partner is growing up so fast, she’ll be starting school next year! Nooooooo!

In a strange turn of events, Dylan decided that instead of donuts she wanted Waffle House. Didn’t see that this be coming.

Almost every Christmas Eve of my adult life I have watched my favorite Christmas Movie. This is not even a joke. My second favorite you ask? Die Hard 2. Seriously.

Anything that starts with a pound of shredded butter is going to be good.

Every year Santa comes to the kids school in a helicopter. This year, because of weather, he came in a van. Not as magical.
